Elk Grove Township Republicans Choose Patlak

Wheeling—Republican Committeeman Mike Sweeney announced today that the Elk Grove Regular Republican Organization has endorsed Commissioner Dan Patlak for Cook County Board of Review.  The endorsement was made by a vote of precinct captains.  Patlak was the unanimous selection of the Republican organization’s voting members.

“We gave both candidates an opportunity to present themselves to our organization,” said Committeeman Sweeney. “Commissioner Patlak gave a five minute presentation highlighting his credentials for the position and his accomplishments since being newly elected last November. Candidate Sean Morrison was given more time to speak because he was unknown to our membership. I was disappointed that Mr. Morrison spent the majority of his time unfairly criticizing Commissioner Patlak. I honestly can’t understand why Morrison is running against a fellow Republican who is doing such a good job for tax payers. Dan Patlak is the clear choice for voters who want an honest professional advocating for them at the Board of Review,” concluded Sweeney

“It is a privilege to receive the endorsement of the Elk Grove Republicans,” said commissioner Patlak.  My staff and I have worked hard to maintain contact with the Elk Grove township community by holding several assessment appeal seminars there over the past eleven months and by being available to individual taxpayers who need help with their appeals,” said Patlak.  “Elk Grove is a lynchpin for victory in the upcoming primary election and earning the Republican Party’s endorsement is a significant boost to our campaign,” concluded Patlak.

Dan Patlak is the newly elected commissioner at the Cook County Board of (Tax) Review. He was the first Republican to defeat an incumbent Democrat Cook County office holder in fifteen years. Patlak worked as an analyst at the Board of Review for eight years from 1999 to 2006 specializing in residential, commercial apartment and exempt properties. After completing advanced courses in property appraisal required to become a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer, Dan was elected Assessor of Wheeling Township in 2005 and re-elected in 2009. Mr. Patlak received his real estate broker’s license in 1986 and is a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI). He has been a member of the National and Illinois Associations of Realtors for the past twenty-five years.  He is also a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers.   Dan resides in the Village of Wheeling with his wife Dulce and ten year old son Teddy.
